2 Day

So today is a two day update. Yesterday we got a nice quick train ride from Linden to Penn Station NY and were soon enjoying this quintessential springtime NYC view.

We went to the Manhattan office of this businessman who we are deeply fortunate to call friend.

2792 Beautiful Bob

Bob finished up a few things and then took us on another tour of delights around his City. He is one of the most beautiful men you could ever meet. He loves the outdoors and all, he is an exceptional executive of course, but most importantly for us he is a man of impeccable conscience in every aspect of life. As you might expect, his wife Enid is the female equivalent of an ideal friend so we enjoy each and both of them immensely.

We strolled an enchanted Nyak waterfront path near their modest home, savoring each serene step.

To save time, Bob then drove us back to Tripp so we could fly up for a quick visit with dear Molly & Dustin. Without doubt the route to take was up the Hudson!

Out my window, Lady Liberty apparently closed for maintenance. Anne got some shots of the city, including this view of the new WTC about to finish getting its face on.

Before long we landed in New Haven and our dear ones came to meet us at the hotel. Before long they were taking us to a few favorite spots for food, fun and fellowship.

Afterward we all came back to our hotel room for wine and deep conversation on wide-ranging topics. Tomorrow’s plan is coffee and then we fly back to NYC. Hopefully capping more New Haven fun with another flight along the Hudson (and maybe finally East River) with Bob & Enid.

Each day on this Islander Adventure has been so abundant with delights, in such a vast range of ways. It’s all far too much for us to absorb, and we often feel as if the wonders of Life itself are flowing through our open fingers and endlessly overflowing our ever expanding hearts and minds. We are changed by the people and places we have touched. Each moment a blessing that we can only thankfully enjoy and hope to somehow pass along.

  1. Hi ANNE & JOHN. I read yesterday you would head to NYC. And was afraid you would get Caught up in that Boston Bombing search. Your pictures and captions today were just great. You couldn’t. Of framed some of those shoots any better, your description of people are even Better than the pictures, I bet they feel like being kings and Queens when they read your versions Of them, I came down with another cold, just as bad as the one before the Ear operation, and Now has settled in my chest, back to putting Vick on my feet and wear a sock to bed. Anne when I was flying over the Pacific Ocean. I never had a worry that we wouldn’t make it. I had decided If we did go down I,d go down with the plane, didn’t like the thought of floating around the ocean In just a life jacket, It sound the pilot you have now, is just as good as the one I had.
